What are the advantages of EVA material over other materials?

EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Copolymer) is a material whose properties can be adjusted as needed to suit various scenarios. Whether in terms of protective effect, cost, or ease of use, it has more advantages than materials such as rubber, ordinary plastics, and metals. It is commonly used in many fields, with the core benefits as follows:

1.Strong protective power

  • Shock-absorbing and drop-resistant: EVA has excellent resilience, can absorb impact force, has much stronger elasticity than common pearl cotton, and its drop resistance is also much better than rubber pads. For example, some drone manufacturers use it as internal protective pads, which significantly reduces the probability of damage during transportation; suitcases use it as lining, which can reduce weight and make them easier to carry.
  • Sun-resistant and durable: After adjusting the composition of EVA, it can withstand extreme high and low temperatures. It does not become brittle or crack in winter, nor does it soften in summer, and is more durable than PVC plastic. Photovoltaic power stations in Hainan use it as an adhesive film; after being exposed to the sun for a long time, the color remains fresh, and the reduction in power generation efficiency is less than that of other adhesive films. The EVA mats laid on yacht decks do not get damaged even after being soaked in salt water for a long time, and their service life is much longer than that of wooden decks.
  • Waterproof and moisture-proof: EVA does not absorb water, and its moisture-proof effect is far better than that of sponge. For example, EVA anti-slip mats used in bathrooms do not get moldy. When they get dirty, a quick wipe makes them dry quickly. They are more useful than cloth anti-slip mats, and more people who buy them become repeat customers.

2.Environmental protection and safety

  • Safe and harmless: EVA has passed safety certification, contains no heavy metals, and is safer than PVC plastic.
  • Recyclable: EVA can retain most of its performance after recycling, making it better than ordinary foam plastics.

3. Multiple functions: By adding some special ingredients to EVA, it can become anti-static. Electronics factories use it to make protective pads, which significantly reduces the probability of chips being damaged by static electricity; some manufacturers can also produce anti-leakage EVA adhesive films for photovoltaic enterprises worldwide; after adding flame-retardant ingredients, it can also be fire-resistant. Electrical appliances use it as lining, which greatly reduces the risk of fire.
